He died three times, but somehow resurrected. On his fourth resurrection, he was pure skeleton, but the next day, Oiram's skin grown again, Mario and Luigi defeated him and his evil little brother, and the evil Oiram brothers ended transversed by the flagpole needle of a castle and died landed.
